I heard on NPR that this winter is looking like a no-acorn winter for some unknown reason (scary), so the squirrels are going to be hard up. We are not nut people because of the LSG's allergy ( No nuts! Don't put out nuts! Nuts are scary and evil! ), but we are going to try to put out a lot of birdseed this winter, which I hear is good for them.

Ach. Squirrels are non-indigenous to this region, and they've done damage to the wires in our house over the years. I've never called the exterminator, but I won't be sad if the squirrels leave our yard to find an oak tree somewhere else. I don't understand why they dig up my bulbs. They don't even eat them!
Your cats don't attend to them? There are lots of cats in our neighborhood so the squirrel pop. is already pretty manageable.
I got a million acorns, they're welcome to come to my house and clean them up. It's awful driving down the drive-way as it's just constant "crrrrrruruuuunnnnch!" sound.
Yay, Triana! Are they this year's acorns, Triana, or old ones?
They're definitely this year's acorns. And they're still falling off the tree in record numbers. Send on the squirrels!
Maybe NPR was full of it.
The squirrels in opur yard are well fed from our compost- no worries for them.
