Corn Husking Helper

Last night, I decided to make a good, summer dinner for the family. I made veggie pigs in a blanket, corn on the cob, lemonade and peach shortcake. The Lone Star Baby helped me. She "peeled" the husks off the corn. She had to work so hard getting all those leaves and all that silk off. She took the job very seriously and stuck to it until she was finished. Then she set the table. She is such a big helper.

That sounds so sweet- I love it when the littles help cook.

I think it's in Issue 8. I am no real cook. I just get veggie dogs and crescent roll dough from the grocery store. I cut the veggie dogs in half and wrap each one up in crescent roll dough and cook it in the oven on the setting recommended on the crescent roll tube. I also slice the veggie dog lengthwise before wrapping it for the wee-est ones. I like them very much. The Lone Star Girl prefers them in puff pastry dough, but that seems decadent. I like them with mustard.

Ah! I was imagining zucchini wrapped up in bread or something equally vegetable-y.
