Library Woes

After such a long, story time-less period, I now find out that our joyful resumption of story time will be short. Our branch library is going to be closed from May 12th through June 16th - if construction stays on schedule - ha! Guess we'll be starting the Summer Reading Club at the Central Library. Sniff.

That's not a long construction time at all! I'm glad. Our local library branch is finally reopening on Lucia's birthday-- lovely present! We got so spoiled, being able to walk to our local library. I'm glad that it's renovated so that it doesn't have to close again for a long, long time. I think our temporary home library will be relieved to see us gone-- we have so many holds requests that then can be overwhelming.

It feels long! I have a hard time ever believing that construction projects will stay on shedule (unless they are Whataburger ones - those places renovate in a jiffy). That little sunflower girl is having a birthday soon, isn't she? 5, is she turning? HEAVENS. My niece also will start K in the fall.

Hey, my Marigold comment disappeared! Hiss boo to Blogger. This is not the first time it's happened. At least it was short-- I've had good comments get eaten up.

The Sunflower Girl is turning 5 on May 10. She's doing two years of kindergarten, and this year was the youngest one in her class. She's looking forward to being a big kid next year!

So exciting. The Lone Star Girl was always an older one with a fall birthday, and that helps so much in school. The LSB, with a June birthday, may have a harder time as one of the younger ones. I don't know if I'll red shirt her or not - have to see how it goes. She'll still be in the children's house, her same class, for her K year, year after this next one. I suppose if I don't think she's ready then, I could send her to the public K for a year after that.
