Coffee: Better Living Through Chemistry

I was traipsing up the steps to a meeting at City Hall this morning with a nice, warm mocha in my hands. Another worker was walking up the steps beside me. She seemed to be in low spirits, murmuring "just one more day...just one more day...it's been a bad week." I told her that I found that a nice, chocolatey coffee just made all those feelings go away. She said she'd have to try it some time.

Coffee and chocolate (especially the 70% kind) just might be the secret elixer. "Secret," I say because of all the fol-de-rol about too much coffee being bad for a person. Of course too much coffee is bad for a person! Too many carrots are bad for a person, too.

In college, the women's org. would host "chocolate houses" instead of coffee houses in recognition of the earlier belief (how early? I'll have to look it up) that women shouldn't drink coffee because it would inhibit their abilities to breed.

I found this article online. I cannot vouch for its veracity, but it makes me chuckle:

I officially believe it...I always knew chocolate was good for you. It has iron in it, I always say.
