The High Cost of C-Sections

I actually prefer the term "Caesarean birth" (from Birthing From Within), because while I do agree with the article for the most part, there are times when the baby simply will not come out. After my ordeal, I had to combat the feelings of failure to deliver by natural means, and it was healthier to think of it as "caesarean birth" than being "sectioned."

Boy-o. I do wish that the hospital people had taken me seriously when I said, "I think this baby is posterior."

I'll try to remember the term. Caesarean births are totally necessary for some babies, but that's about 1 in 15, not 1 in 3 and it is very dangerous that doctors are doing so many unnecessary ones when the risks are so high.
