Yesterday morning before work, I called every member of the Texas Senate Finance Committee to ask them to vote for SB 1004, the soda tax bill that would create revenue for Texas schools and other needed services. After work, I picked up the kids and went to the Lindale Neighborhood Association Candidates' Forum. Busy day for citizenship.

We briefly had a tax for this. It got voted down. It seemed that people would rather have cheap soda.
